Particle KANA (かな)

1. 

The particle KANA expresses uncertainty, or simply a question to oneself: “I wonder if...”. KASHIRA can be used too, but only by women. However, KASHIRA is phasing out nowadays and might sound a little posh sometimes.

松尾さんはこのプレゼンを気に入ってくれるかな。
まつおさん は この ぷれぜんと を きにいって くれる かな。
I wonder if Matsuo will like this present…
ケーキはお好きかしら。
ケーキ は おすき かしら。
I wonder if you like cake.
家の鍵を閉めたかな。
いえ の かぎ を しめた かな。
I wonder if I locked the house...
ここに駐車してもいいのかしら。
ここ に ちゅうしゃ して も いい の かしら。
I wonder if it is alright to park here.
