Particle NA (な) end of sentence

1. 

The particle NA is used by men at the end of sentences to express admiration often translated as "What a + adjective...". NA can be pronounced longer (NAA).

かっこいい車だなあ。
かっこいい くるま だ なあ。
What a cool car.
2. 

The structure "verb + NA" is used by men to order someone not to do something. This usage is a little rude, so be careful when using it.

そんなこと言うな!
そんな こと いう な!
Don’t say that kind of things, you hear!
3. 

The particle NA can be used by men to translate "isn't it, don't you" (question tags) and to seek someone's confirmation.

あそこが渡辺さんの家だよな。
あそこ が わたなべさん の いえ だ よ な。
That’s Watanabe’s house, isn’t it?
4. 

NA can be used to give a softer tone to what someone says or orders.

田中さんのプレゼンはとても説得力があったな。
たなかさん の ぷれぜん は せっとくりょく が あった な。
Tanaka’s presentation was very convincing.
そのことはみんなに秘密な。
その こと は みんな に ひみつ な。
Be sure not to tell anybody.
この本を貸してくださいな。
この ほん を かして ください な。
Please lend me this book.
