Particle O (を)

1. 

The particle O is used in Japanese to indicate the direct object. を in romaji is also sometimes written WO, but the W is never pronounced.

父は本を読んでいる。
ちち は ほん を よんでいる。
My father is reading a book.
ケーキを食べたいんです。
ケーキ を たべたい ん です。
I want to eat a piece of cake.
この船は９時に港を出発します。
この ふね は くじ に みなと を しゅっぱつ します。
This boat will leave the port at 9:00.
