Since many members are student, and don't have much time or money to get a Samurai access, I've thought for alternative solutions. For the time being, the simplest one to integrate is to give you contribution points when you post a comment on the site.

The idea is to give you different ways to get a Samurai account, but also to convince you to be more active on the site. You can ask questions, help others, etc.

For the time being, the number of points you get varies between 0 and 3 depending on the quality of your comment. Let me know what you think about this so that I can know if you are interested by such features. It's a first good opportunity for you to get some contribution points

I don't intend to create an English teaching site simply because I already don't have enough time to work on Japan Activator.

As for the lessons, we are writing much grammatical articles for the time being. Such content will help create later new progressive lessons faster.

Also, as Dustpuppy said in a previous post, I'd gladly like to help edit an English teaching site for Japanese speakers and meanwhile earn me some points ;)

I think this is a great way of stimulating people to be interactive with the site (and eachother). Making it kind of a game with points and rankings and such really stimulates more people than just providing lessons and a quick test.

Sounds like a good idea to me! The Samurai content seems well worth all the various ways to gain access. I hope that I can contribute to this program as well in the future.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm still new, but it appears that many of the other contribution options require a fair amount of knowledge of Japanese already. Not really an option when you're starting from knowing almost nothing.

Perhaps some sort of copy editing or other checking could allow us to contribute without requiring any existing knowledge. Even better (and beyond the intended scope) would be some option to integrate with a site teaching English to native speakers of Japanese. That way we could each build out and assist the other side.

Thanks for your messages, it's nice to hear from people's point of view. I'll try to add the commenting tool to more sections on the site (cultural texts for example) so that members can share their thoughts more often.

I think it's a great idea! Not only because you can save money but also because participating is the best way to improve both website (by suggesting more and better features) and knowledge if the post and comments are about japanese news and culture.
Keep up the good work ;)

To me that sounds like a great feature! I've tried looking for things to do and add (through the Contributions link), but everything was already taken! I might write some exercises soon, but I'm often busy with my own schoolwork, so this would be a welcome addition.
