The day has come to put online the work started 3 months ago!

Why a new design for the site ? Simply because it was necessary before starting some other projects to be due this year.

At any rate, things were done well, the site is ready for the years to come. Do you want to know why? More and more people use their phones and tablets to go online, and this phenomenon is rapidly increasing. How to make a website be enough responsive to be adapted for small, medium, large screens??? If you want to know the answer, reduce your browser window and you'll see it's magic!

Phone View Desktop View

The graphic style has been much improved as well, it's more dynamic and modern: the modules bar can be slided with your mouse, and even with your finger if you are using a touch screen.

After that, the organization in the menu was getting quite awkward. Exercises could be found in the "Lessons" section and vice-versa. So all that has been cleaned up, and it's much better now. The site is now structured in two main parts: "Japanese lessons" and "Culture". The former is sorted by modules now, and looks like JA Sensei. The later will be developped, too.

I have also created 4 different themes for the site in order to let you choose the one you prefer! Four are available now, but others will be added.

Notice that the site can be used with all browsers, but the aspect might change. I advice you to avoid using Internet Explorer as several major versions of the browser don't integrate new technologies and is quite sluggish sometimes..

There are still a few things that must be fixed, but I'm looking forward to working on new projects, so this new design will be an excellent basis for what comes on. Let me know if anything doesn't work well.

Japan Activator has reached a new level, it's a kind of rebirth for me. Since the opening of the site in 2006, you are more and more to follow the evolutions of the site and to trust us to learn Japanese. Your support is the bedrock of the site.

Do NOT forget to leave a comment herewe want to know your personal feeling about the new design!

I really like the design. I am a new member, therefore I do not know the previous design, however, the current design is very pleasant and everything is clearly arranged.

I really like this new layout, it's very clean and to the point. It looks very modern, but still very professional. Great job!

I'm very grateful for the new mobile version of this website. I only recently switched from my Android operating phone to a Windows 7 HTC, so I am no longer able to use the application (which I still think was very effective; I love that app) on my new phone. The style and format of everything on the mobile version of the website is great, and I'm really liking how it's imitating the Android application, because it makes it easier to navigate around. I look forward to the future of this site, and I want to give a big thank-you for allowing me to efficiently be able to learn Japanese like this. :)

Still a few things to fix, but thanks for your feeback, I know I'm going to the right direction thanks to you.

@Knufax: not all words can have a clear image, abstract things like hatred are harder to represent in a single picture. It would take a lot of work but it could be done to a certain extent, though.

Because of Traveling preparation i did not have enough time to look to close but on the first sight it looks new but good structured. Also works well on my smart phone it only takes quite a while to load. I also like that all browsers are supported. Because opera users often fall behind a bit behind Firefox and chrome. So great coding work ;) It is rally the best Japanese learning page i found so far only one thing could be improved. Adding pictures or drawings to vocabulary. Because some ppl need a image to remember best. But this is for sure a huge amount of work...

喜んでもらえてうれしいです。もしバグを見つけたら言ってくださいね。

I hope other members will give me some feedback. I've received many from French members, but I'd like to know about English speaking members, too. If there is anything not working, let me know.
